P2. Evaluate My Own Qualities

Personal characteristics:

I am a driven, creative, and motivated to achieve my goals. I would say I’m outgoing, and I have good communication skill, I can work well independently as well, as working well in groups. I would describe myself as organised and punctual, and I strive to put my best into everything that I do.

Skills

I am skillful in Adobe software such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and After Effects. Skills I wish to develop and improve are working with actors, learning more action verbs for directing, and understanding the technical side of things better in cameras and editing software.

Relevant achievements
I have achieved over the year, Producing a music video, self directed and cinematography and edit documentary and done a advertising campaign for Backstitch store in Cambridgeshire. Other work experience that i have gained is working at the race course in Newmarket catering and heath and beauty retail at savors all of these jobs have given me transferal skills: working well as a unit, independent responsibilities, great customer service, dealing with money and stock, and social skills. However I would like to get a job that more fashion orientated. 

Experience and interests

2014, I traveled to South Africa on holiday, I managed to use my time wisely and get work experience with my Aunt designing, making and tailoring farewell gowns. I continue to develop my craft by working with a year 7 textiles class by demonstrating to them the importance of simple stitching techniques and assisting them on their visual presentation.

Strengths and Weakness

My strengths are Fashion Textiles and Media. Having spent most of my time with relatives that make their own clothes because their sizes aren't available, I have become empathetic to oversized   people. Also have secondary and further education in textiles and media. I mostly enjoy going to Exhibitions to get new ideas.

I would like to develop my confidence more in expanding my basic knowledge in the Adobe Suite, so that I can create high quality projects. Also giving presentations to a group of people to persuade the audience.

As well as fashion design, my other interests include styling, photography, and art this includes a wide range of mixed media to abstract drawings and paintings. I also enjoy travelling and learning about new cultures.

Looking at the resources I already have and the ones I need, I have most of the resources that are required as essentials. On the other hand, the resources are do not have are beneficial as it would make the quality better. With the fact that I don't have a high quality Camera, or laptop  this isn't too much of a problem as I can produce the same work. However I need certain adobe software that I don’t have – which would only cost roughly £50 a month.

Strengths
Resources I have that will be helpful is my Canon 550D, Pc with basic Adobe software, tailored mannequin, sewing machine, and car for traveling to location. The resources which I don't have but will be helpful with my career path giving me a range of areas I can go into. Those are a graphic tablet, laser cutter, 3D printer, camera lenses, models/actors/contacts, funds and lighting. Unfortunately I don't have direct link to these other than funding them myself, however I could get sponsored.

Weaknesses
Resources which would be helpful on my career are a graphic tablet, laser cutter, 3D printer, camera lenses, models/actors/ contacts, funds and lighting. However, previously stated above I could only have access to them if I fund them myself, although I will be going to university next year giving me access to equipment but I might still have to fund them myself if its external work that I am using them for.

Areas for development
The most important thing I need is contacts, allowing me to get known in the industry. Also give me access to equipment that I would of have to fund myself.
