P4. Career and Study Options Flow Diagram

What Uni Will I Go To?
My two preferred universities I would like to go, to are Lincoln University and Falmouth University to study fashion. Or I will apply for a Foundation year either the Arts Foundation at Long Road or Fashion Foundation at Newham college.

Apprenticeship Schemes that I will Apply for?
I will be looking on unlist.com for any jobs from apprenticeship schemes or assistant stylist that I can apply for:

Its clear from my flow chart that I would like to work in the fashion industry and hopefully make it as a fashion designer mainly.

Addressing Skills and Resource Needs:
After college is to go to university to get a degree in fashion design most of the courses I looked at has a sandwich year where there's a chance for you to get work experience and make contacts for after you leave university.  At university I will have access to the resource I dont have such as,a graphic tablet, laser cutter, 3D printer, camera lenses, models/actors/ contacts, funds and lighting. However, previously stated in my resource audit although i might have access I might still have to fund them myself if its external work that I am using them for, to build experience for my career choice outside of University. Also at university I will have tutors that can give me feed back and have workshops to advance my skills that I am lacking in, such as- to develop my confidence more in expanding my basic knowledge in the Adobe Suite, so that I can create high quality projects. However independently I can work on them by using tutorials on youtube to teach myself.

another way is after college is to do freelancing as fashion designer, meaning I will be employing myself  so that I can be hired out to operate carers and e.g. to London Fashion Week then showcase my work on YouTube or web page and hopefully get recognized and then apply for a join in the fashion industry. Another is to get a job in the fashion industry as an assistant internship and then work my way up the ladder- by doing so I might need go back to university to take MA course so that I am qualified. Also while being in a job putting aside money so I could fund my self when starting up my own business, which I can collaborate with people I know with the same background in media textiles and business to develop the business.

However if plans don't go accordingly I think that I will chose another field within in the fashion industry. But if not then I think that I will then chose to become a freelance in my own time an just design garments for people that I know want a one off a kind garment e.g great place and season is in South Africa summertime when metric students having their farewell, as a hobby with funding from my job. Then to showcase my work I can upload final garments to Facebook and Instagram page dedicated to my freelancing work and inspiration advertising myself to draw in future clients.
